Opinion

Dear Friends,

Throughout Africa especially in the great Savanna Plains- teaming with wildlife, every unique species has an environmental function that determines a special balance of nature.

NOT SO IN FLORIDA! Although Florida has its native, dangerous species such as alligators and various poisonous snakes, the heinous introduction of certain predators that have no enemies by irresponsible folks is becoming a problem.

The wet moist climate of Florida is a breeding ground for boa constrictors that can grow to 15 feet long and can kill your child or pet. Believe it or not there is a much worse animal that is breeding at a remarkable rate. That is the West Nile Monitor that can grow to 6 feet long . A huge lizard creature that looks like something out of Jurassic Park. It is poisonous and built like a tank. It is extremely dangerous and will eat you! It has no predators! Unfortunately, some stupid people have released these monsters into our climate and they are killing everything.

Yours truly feels safe because I am living in an assisted living facility, but for those of you tramping around in the woods, look out. Fish and Wildlife have raised the alarm!

See the link from the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission. What do you think about that? As always your comments are welcome and appreciated.

Respectfully Yours,

JUDSON Bennett–Coastal Network
